Food supplements — GIS notification and classification

In Poland a food supplement is notified to GIS; it is not an authorisation. GIS may challenge composition, dose, novel-food status or medicinal presentation.

Classification (supplement vs FSMP vs fortified food vs medicinal product) is a legal call, not a marketing one. A mistake at launch means withdrawal and an administrative dispute.
